THEY were the noughties’ most iconic couple and now Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are fuelling rumours of a romantic reunion after a flirty night at the Golden Globes.
As Brad picked up the Best Supporting Actor gong for his role as Cliff Booth in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Jen couldn’t contain her excitement – grinning, clapping and giggling at his speech.
Earlier in the evening, Brad told Red Carpet reporters: “I’ll run into Jen, she’s a good friend” and things hotted up when the pair were seated near each other along with fellow A-listers Reese Witherspoon and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Jen was pictured wearing a strikingly similar ring to the $500k sparkler Brad proposed to her with in 1999 as she arrived at the star-studded ceremony.
Later that evening, they hit two Golden Globes after parties together, but left separately.
Fans lapped up Jen's reaction to the speech and urged the pair to get back together.
It’s no surprise the Friends actress was so happy for her ex-husband because the headline-grabbing couple have recently been partying like it’s 1999.
They went through a nasty divorce back in 2005, but rekindled their flirty friendship after Brad’s split from Angelina Jolie and have gradually become closer over the past two years.
Brad splashed out on a secret gift for Jen’s 50th and the exes were seen hugging and chatting at her birthday party at LA’s Sunset Tower Hotel.
The rumour mill went into overdrive last month when Brad paid a visit to Jen's home for her Christmas party.
He spent four hours at the star-studded get together and was the second from last person to leave just before 11pm.
It’s a far cry from their bitter split after Brad fell in love with Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith.
Although Brad and Jen’s divorce announcement said they would “remain committed and caring friends” the cracks soon began to show.
Jen was devastated when she saw photos of Brad, Angelina and her adopted son Maddox playing on a beach in Kenya a few months after their split.
“The world was shocked, and I was shocked,” she said.
Soon after, Brangelina posed as glamorous parents for a W magazine fashion shoot with the headline “Domestic Bliss”, after which Aniston famously described Brad as having “a sensitivity chip” missing.
While Jen had brief romances with her The Break-Up co-star Vince Vaughn and musician John Mayer, Brad and Angelina’s relationship lasted 12 years and they married in 2014.
But they filed for divorce two years later in 2016 and are co-parents to their famous brood: adopted Maddox, Zahara and Pax and their biological children Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox.
The Fight Club actor reportedly turned to Jen after his publicised split from Angelina, offloading to her through text messages.
A source told Us Weekly at the time: “Brad told her he’s having a hard time with his split and they exchanged a few texts reminiscing about the past."
During an interview with W Magazine back in 2009, Brad shocked the world when he openly revealed he and his ex-wife were still in contact.
“We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers,” he said.
Jen, meanwhile, starting dating Justin Theroux in 2011 and although the pair married in 2015 they were divorced just three years later.
It was reported at the time that Justin was unhappy after finding old post-it love notes Brad had written for Jen when they were together – and she still stayed close to Brad's mother, Jane.
A source told the magazine: “He stumbled upon old Post-it notes Brad had written.
“Sweet little Post-its like, ‘You looked nice tonight’ or ‘Miss you already.’”
The source said that impact of the notes was huge, adding: “Jen assured him they weren’t a big deal, but Justin wasn’t thrilled… Justin had moments of insecurity like that.”
So now both Brad and Jen are single, will they rekindle their romance?
These two look great together, with Brad even resembling the slicked-back, clean-cut 2000 version of himself that Jen fell in love with.
Going to her milestone birthday party showed that Brad was very much part of Jen’s inner circle of A-list pals and spending quality time together at her holiday gathering last month was a big step in the right direction.
Now their touching Golden Globes appearance and subsequent night of partying together is adding more fuel to the fire.
Hardcore fans have never given up on a Brad and Jen reunion, so are they really just “good friends” or will they finally get the happy ending they deserve?
