In 2021 The Brit Awards were hit with hundreds of OfCom complaints after they failed to bleep the swearing during the live ceremony.
The Someone You Loved singer Lewis turned the air blue as he swore and slurred on stage and show bosses were forced to drown out the pop star with white noise when he presented the Best British Album gong to Dua Lipa at the O2 Arena.
He was swearing so much that some slipped through the mute button, including when he said: "Hello mutherf*****s".
Stormy and Dave's performances
Complaints: Over 300
The Sun exclusively revealed that the Brit Awards in 2020 received 257 complaints focused on UK rapper Dave's performance.
Dave won Best Album at the annual ceremony, and during a charged performance he added lyrics targeting the Prime Minister and included a tribute to the Grenfell Tower victims and Jack Merritt, one of the victims of the 2019 London Bridge terror attack.
Ofcom told The Sun Online that the overall sentiment of the complaints from viewers were claims that Dave's performance was "racist".
Stormzy's performance received 39 complaints which Ofcom said were a mix of racism claims and the nature of the performance.
Rhianna twerking on Drake and Adele's swearing
Complaints: 66
The Brits was hit with 66 complaints in 2016 because of two things.
Viewers weren't happy that Rihanna twerked on rapper Drake during their performance of Work.
Adele also dropped the F-bomb while collecting her third award of the night.
Kanye West's performance
Complaints: 126
The same year Kanye West performed his song All Day on stage which had to be censored throughout.
The rapper used the N-word 39 times throughout the performance – and show bosses didn't manage to catch every single one.
