It’s crunch time for Faith (Kirsty Mitchell) and Lev (Uriel Emil) in tonight’s Casualty, when their son Luka (Tom Mulheron) faces surgery for his brain tumour. He has the best surgeon available, though – the legendary Zsa Zsa Harper-Jenkinson (Sharon Gless) has flown over from America to take on the case, after being contacted by Dylan (William Beck). Zsa Zsa is curious to know why Dylan went to such lengths for a colleague. Does he have particular feelings for Faith?
Faith and Lev insist on watching the operation, against Zsa Zsa’s strong advice. Will they be able to handle the pressure of seeing their precious son being operated on? And will Zsa Zsa succeed in removing the tumour? It’s a tense wait to find out.
Everyone is surprised when Charlie (Derek Thompson) returns to work only a few weeks after Duffy’s death, insisting that all he wants is to carry on with business as usual and to be treated just the same as always. It soon becomes clear that a lot has changed while he’s been away, and Charlie begins to wonder whether he’s made the right decision in coming back so soon.
And after Marty (Shaheen Jafargholi)’s recent heartbreak when he discovered he was dating a married man, he’s been throwing himself into socialising. Jade (Gabriella Leon)’s worried about him and she’s particularly concerned when he starts lying to Charlie about needing time off, and when he starts arranging assignations during his lunch break. She’s right to be concerned, as Marty faces another humiliating rejection.
Patients o’ the week include a butcher who has a very nasty accident in his shop and faces even more bad news at the hospital.
And watch out for sparks flying when Connie (Amanda Mealing) and Zsa Zsa cross paths.
