CBBC star joins Hollyoaks as 'charismatic' new character | The Sun

CBBC star Nathaniel Dass has joined the cast of Hollyoaks as new character Dillon Ray.

The 20-year-old actor will be the latest addition to the Maalik family on the Channel 4 soap.

His character Dillon Ray is 15-years-old and will arrive on Misbah Maaliks’ (Harvey Virdi) doorstep after he’s kicked out by his mum for being expelled from school.

The teen makes a convincing plea to stay, and caring Misbah welcomes him with open arms, but how long is he planning to stick around.

Easy going and blessed with a keen fashion sense, Dillon comes across as effortlessly cool and confident.

However, under the surface, he’s more sensitive than he lets on.

Standing out from the crowd, Dillon marches to the beat of his own drum.

However, his attention-seeking ways can get him into trouble.

Dillon will also interact with fellow teens Leah (Ela-May Demircan), Shing Lin (Izzie Yip), and Lucas (Oscar Curtis).

Talking about joining the Channel 4 soap, Nathaniel said: “I’m so happy to have been welcomed into the Hollyoaks family.

"Everyone here is amazing and I’ve had the best time so far, especially with my new family, the Maaliks.

“I’m super excited for people to see what’s in store for my character Dillon. He’s got a lot about him so it’s going to be fun seeing what kind of trouble he gets into, who he’ll become friends with and if there’s maybe a few potential romances, you’ll have to see.”

Nathaniel starred in the CBBC comedy series Almost Never and played the role of Nate.

He has also appeared as himself on the show Saturday Mash-Up in a couple of 2019 episodes.

As well as acting, the Birmingham-born is a musician and performed in a band called The Wonderland, which is featured on Almost Never.

Nathaniel’s first appearance on Hollyoaks is on Thursday 20th April on E4, and Friday 21st April on Channel 4.
