Celebrity Masterchef viewers saw Meteorologist Tomasz Schafernaker amongst other celebs give their best performance through their love of cooking good food but judge John said the weatherman’s food combination was “bizarre” when he revealed that he was preparing Thai green curry wth avocado.
This evening saw the four celebs battling it out in this year’s semi-finals as they took on the tough task to prepare their main course, accompanied by a splendid dessert for three special guests, Alexis Conran, Sophie Thompson and Richard Coles who all reached the top on the previous shows.
With one hour and fifteen minutes to prepare two courses, the celebs got cracking and Tomasz prepared a Thai green curry.
“Tomasz has got avocado in his batch, I don’t know what he’s gonna do with that,” John exclaimed with unease after looking over at Tomasz’ table.
“Avocado with a Thai green curry…that bizarre,” the puzzled chef added.

Tomasz made vegetable Thai green curry, served with sweet potato, avocado, vine tomatoes and jasmine rice.
Actress Sophie Thompson seemed to enjoy the exquisite meal as she complimented the flavoursome sauce while Richard actually preferred the avocado and thought the tomato didn’t belong in the dish.
For actor and presenter Alex Conran, the potatoes were impressive but thought the meal could have done with a bit more cooking.
Then it was time for the judges to try the meal and Gregg said: “The Thai green curry isn’t too bad actually but it hasn’t got any lime acidity at all and no heat whatsoever,”
Speculative like John, he further added, “I’ve no idea what a slippery avocado and a Mediterranean tomato are doing on that plate”.
For dessert, Tomasz made banana ice cream sorbet with coconut sugar caramel and fresh mangoes.
The guests tasted the sweet treat and complimented his efforts however, Alex thought that the desert was too simple at that stage of the competition.
Sophie was impressed by the fact that it made the meal special even by using very few ingredients.
Gregg found the dessert sweet and refreshing while John complimented Tomasz’s toffee banana ice cream.
The British weatherman was excited to make his dish as he said he wanted “to prove he can make a mean curry” earlier in the show.
Tomasz was worried in the begging of the show, not knowing how much further he can get as he wasn’t a “natural-born cook”.
Viewers got to see Tomasz’s passion for food as he pushed himself with daring flavours and even vegetables like avocado.
“I’m absolutely shaking. I am amazed that I have done it…the flavours better be there,” he said whilst he waited nervously for the verdict.
