Christine McGuinness and Paddy dealing with issues privately and kids are focus

Christine McGuinness has admitted to experiencing marriage issues with her husband Paddy, but has stated she intends to tackle them privately.

The 34 year old star shares three children with Lancashire funnyman Paddy McGuinness, and told Carol Vorderman that they are her primary focus as the family prepares to go on holiday next week.

Appearing on Tuesday morning’s edition of Lorraine, which Carol presented, Christine said: "I think marriages go through ups and down anyway. All marriages, especially long ones like ours. 15 years together.

"It's not always going to be plane sailing. We’re trying to deal with things as privately as possible. We both just want to be there to support the children and give them an amazing summer.

"We are going away on a family holiday next week and we are really excited about it. They are always going to be our focus. That's the most important thing to us."

The couple’s relationship has been the subject of much speculation and scrutiny in recent weeks, however the couple continued to put on a united front as Top Gear presenter Paddy returned from Thailand where he has been filming the upcoming series of the BBC motoring show.

The doting dad promised his wife and kids “cuddles” upon his return, with the news coming just days after Christine had admitted publicly that she was having a “difficult time."

She told Fabulous Magazine: “I can’t deny we are having a very, very difficult time.

"It’s just — we’ve been together 15 years, 11 years married: we are gonna have ups and downs — but this situation at the minute — I don’t want to go into it too much but I will just say that I didn’t cause this situation.”

Christine also cryptically added: ”What I might have put up with in the past, I probably wouldn’t put up with now, and the same for him.”

Christine and Paddy met in 2007 and share three children, twins Penelope and Leo, nine, and Felicity, six.

Aside from juggling her busy home life, Christine has also been hard at work finishing off her updated memoir, Beautiful Nightmare, which she also discussed on Tuesday’s show.

One of the key issues she discussed in the book, were the unique challenges of parenting three children with autism, which Christine has also been diagnosed with.

“It’s not easy, it’s challenging,” she told Carol.

“It’s difficult at times, but there’s lots of fun and joy and lots to celebrate that comes along with having children having additional needs.

"I felt that was so important to put in the book because that’s the biggest part of my life.”
