Chesney (played by Sam Aston) has been helping his fiance Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) in recent weeks on Coronation Street after she was diagnosed with postnatal depression. Although she harboured her feelings to herself for months, her loved ones realised last month she was struggling with her mental health. With four babies to look after on her own, the mother-of-four’s partner decided to give up his job and stay home to unload some of her burden. However, upcoming episodes on the ITV soap will see a big mistake unravel as he tries to offer yet more support. Could this be the final straw for the long-suffering couple?

Last night’s instalment of the Weatherfield-based drama saw Gemma make the first steps in progress towards fighting her demons as she attended a support group with her other half.
This allowed her to open up more to Chesney and later this week, viewers will see the mother-of-four embark on a new venture.
With the support of cobbles residents such as Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) and Cathy Matthews (Melanie Hill), the former kebab shop worker decides to film a series of vlogs.
In the videos, the beloved character hopes to raise awareness of postnatal depression and detail her own experiences.
However, she doesn’t set them live immediately and when her fiance takes a look at his other half’s work, things don’t go to plan. Will this lead to a heartbreaking split?

The drama kicks off when Chesney tries to convince Gemma she should take the plunge and share her vlogs online.
Feeling she’s not in the place to share her experiences, the mother-of-four decides she needs a little longer to dwell on what to do.
Wanting to get a better grasp of what his other half has been sharing, the father of quadruplets takes a sneak peak at the laptop.
With baby Bryn in hand, the kebab shop worker tries to balance his son and the device on his knees.
Unfortunately, having his hands full leads to a huge mistake and Bryn accidentally presses a button which sets the vlog live.
Viewers will have to wait and see what happens next, but Chesney will surely go into panic mode as he doesn’t want this to be a setback for his partner.
As in the soap world, however, nothing stays secret for long and with her videos circulating online, it won’t be long before Gemma learns the truth.
Although one of the babies was actually behind the mistake, will the father-of-four take the wrap and leave his partner furious?

It’s fair to say the pair have had their share of troubles in trying to make their relationship work over the past couple of years.
The pair have always had feelings for one another, but never acted on them as Gemma had a one night stand with Chesney’s sister’s partner, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).
This led the kebab shop worker to embark on a romance with Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell), but his girlfriend knew her boyfriend was holding a candle for the wayward character.
When the lovebirds gave things a go, they realised they couldn’t live under the same roof and decided to break up.

Not long after, Gemma discovered she was pregnant with quadruplets, with Chesney telling her he wanted to be a part of his children’s life.
The stubborn pair then admitted they’d never fallen out of love with one another and on the day the mother-of-four gave birth, the soap stalwart popped the question.
It seemed the pair were finally turning over a new leaf with the arrival of their babies and even Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) couldn’t break the pair.
However, with her most personal feelings shared online for everyone to see without her knowing, will Gemma call time on her relationship with her partner for good?
Whatever happens, Executive Producer Iain MacLeod told press, including Express.co.uk: “This [storyline] will ultimately give her the confidence to believe in herself a bit.”
Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on ITV.
