Friday’s instalment of the Weatherfield-based soap saw Steve leave Oliver in the hands of teenager Summer Spellman (Matilda Freeman) after seeing his eldest daughter Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) having a tiff with her ex-boyfriend in the middle of the street.
As the hairdresser caused a scene, her father offered the schoolgirl £5 if she would take his son back to Number One and watch over him for a few minutes.
The taxi-driver had no cause for concern leaving Oliver with the youngster, given she wouldn’t say boo to a ghost.
However, by the time he arrived home, the stalwart saw his and Leanne’s son flat out on the floor as the high-schooler watched on petrified.

Coronation Street viewer
“He was shaking, it was like a fit. I don’t know, it literally just happened,” Summer told Steve before he picked the toddler up and ran him over to the medical centre.
The credits rolled shortly afterwards, meaning viewers will have to wait and see the aftermath in tomorrow night’s episode.
Taking to Twitter after the scenes aired, however, a couple of fans weren’t convinced the teenager was so oblivious to what had happened.
One wrote on the social media platform: “Did Summer do something to Oliver?” as another asked: “What has she done?”
