Sinead’s (played by Katie McGlynn) current storyline on Coronation Street broke hearts across the nation when it was discovered her cancer had returned, with little chance of recovery. In the coming weeks on the ITV soap, the residents of Weatherfield will bid farewell to their beloved neighbour as she succumbs to her diagnosis. However, with guilt hanging heavy on his shoulders, will Daniel (Rob Mallard) make his wife’s final days even more heartbreaking?
Since his wife discovered her cancer had returned, Daniel has been in a state of turmoil as he’s worried how he’ll cope caring for the young mother in her final days.
Although the pair believed a course of chemotherapy would give them more time, next week’s instalments will see the young couple deliver some devastating news.
Upcoming episodes will see Sinead and her husband tell their loved ones her cancer is terminal, meaning she only has a few short weeks to make the most of her time with her young family.
However, before the recent diagnosis, Sinead and Daniel were going through a rough patch as they squabbled over whether they wanted to make their marriage official.

As Daniel struggled to appease his wife, he soon found himself navigating towards Weatherfield youngster Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
The student fiercely defended his co-worker when the demons of her past made themselves present on the cobbles, leading the waitress to develop feelings for Sinead’s husband.
Spending more time together, the pair almost gave into their chemistry by sealing their feelings with a kiss before Daniel’s wife walked in and interrupted them.
Although no affair commenced, with him and his wife marrying a few days later, it’s clear the waiter has been plagued with guilt over his conflicted feelings for Bethany.
Knowing he doesn’t have long left with Sinead, upcoming episodes could see the young father desperate to relieve himself of his guilt.
Speaking in an interview released by the ITV soap, actor Rob revealed his character will be locked in a huge dilemma over his betrayal.
“Bethany was falling for Daniel and he was completely oblivious to it up until the moment when they almost kissed,” the actor began.
“He does naturally feel terrible about it, but even worse because it’s not been a fleeting thing.”
