Dancing on Ice fans are gearing up for this season’s first celebrity skate-off, which takes place on Sunday evening. Amongst this year’s hopefuls is presenter Ria Hebden, who was dealt the crushing blow of bookmakers’ odds, heavily suggesting she could be the first to leave the competition.

Lorraine favourite Ria, 39, hasn’t quite won the nation’s hearts with her skating skills just yet.

Despite scoring 24.5 out of 40 from judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, and Christopher Dean, Ria scored low on the public vote and was placed in this week’s skate-off.

The TV presenter and her professional partner Łukasz Różycki skated to Harry Styles’ Treat People With Kindness.

Trying to treat viewers with kindness has seemed to backfire as bookies William Hill have her down as the best odds to leave the show first.

The first two weekends of the show’s 2022 launch has the 12 celebrities split into two groups, with tonight’s performance being the first to feature a skate-off.

On Ria’s week, Bez scored lowest with 12.5, but the Happy Mondays singer scored high with the public.

The 11 other celebrities competing alongside Ria are Love Island’s Liberty Poole, former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens, singer and dancer Regan Gascoigne, former rugby player Ben Foden, Paralympian Stef Reid, Happy Mondays star Mark’ Bez’ Berry, Olympian Kye Whyte, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, The Vamps band member Connor Ball, former Strictly pro dancer Brendan Cole and Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor.

According to the global online gambling company, Ria is 1/2 favourite be the first celebrity eliminated from this year’s Dancing on Ice.

Tipped to be the first to leave the ITV contest, Ria is followed closely by former England rugby player Ben Foden, betting at 2/1.

On January 22, Ria took to social media to show her excitement to skate in tonight’s episode.

Sharing a video, she captioned her post: “Feeling very thankful for all of the kind messages of support and good vibes ahead of @dancingonice

 tomorrow!

“We’ve got a wicked routine to the awesome Taylor Swift lined up and I just know you’re going to love it! #dancingonice #TaylorSwift #iceskating #yesyougogirl.”

Loyal fan Thom cheered her on virtually: “Hope you smash it and make it through you have so much potential to grow.”

Rupert Adams, spokesperson for William Hill, said: “It looks as if it could be a short stint on Dancing on Ice for Ria Hebden, who is in grave danger of departing the show this weekend.

“We think it might turn into a bit of a shootout between Hebden and former rugby player Ben Foden, who is also fancied for the boot at 2/1.”

Determined not to leave the show without a fight, the TV star shared a video with her 9,405 Instagram followers today saying that the skating duo was “positive” about the show.

Morning TV show host Lorriane Kelly commented to encourage the novice skater saying: “You go girl!!!”

Paralympian Stefanie Reid is also skating around danger with the odds 5/1.

Things are looking more positive for pop star Connor who is at 20/1, reality star Liberty at 33/1 and Regan is sitting safely at 50/1.

The show has already been plagued with celebrity injuries and sickness.

Singer Rachel Stevens recently suffered an injury which means her debut will be on week three, and Bez had to isolate due to Covid.

Dancing on Ice airs tonight at 6:30 pm on ITV.
