Holly Willoughby revealed she ‘nearly threw up’ backstage over Stef Reid’s Dancing On Ice performance with Andy Buchanan.
The pair hit the ice for Musicals Week, performing a stunning routine to One (Reprise) from A Chorus Line.
However, while it was judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean that they needed to impress, along with guest judge Arlene Phillips, it seems that the presenters were a little more worried for the contestants.
In fact, at the end of the performance, Holly told Stef that she was almost sick over the scenes – as it seemed that the Paralympian ‘almost went over’ after an ‘error’.
‘Stef you’re edging closer to that 9 that I know you really want,’ she said. ‘Well done, you were a true leading lady out there.
‘I’ve got to say, I nearly threw up backstage at that last moment. What happened there? It seemed like you were almost going to go over!’
Stef insisted that she wasn’t worried about the ‘error’ at the end of their performance, as she has trust in her partner.
‘Well, fortunately, I’m quite strong and Andy is quite strong,’ Stef replied. ‘We know each other well enough now that we can actually correct an error, which is quite good. I had no worries about it.
‘We are really challenging ourselves with the lifts and it is quite fun.’
Stef and Andy received a final score of 41.5 out of 50, with Ashley telling them: ‘That might look like a hat to the audience but to a performer that is a prop which is hard to use on ice.’
Oti added that they brought ‘joy’, and were in their own world.
It was a tense night for Holly, who also had to take part in a stunt on the ice to kick off this evening’s show.
She was pushed onto the rink with co-host Phillip Schofield, starting Musicals Week with a bang.
However, in a video before the episode began, she could be screaming throughout the rehearsals.
‘She’s really panicking,’ Phillip told the camera, joking that ‘rehearsing is a first’ for the stars.
‘I’m never going to be able to let go of this,’ a terrified Holly replied.
‘I don’t think I can do this. I can’t breathe.’
Thankfully, they made it onto the ice safely – but something tells us that this was a one-off…
Dancing On Ice continues next Sunday at 6.30 on ITV.
