Hannah Brown may be known as “Hannah Beast” in some circles, but that doesn’t mean that the star is fearless. Sure, she’s gone on national television to find love, not once but twice, had the courage to date 30 men at once, and was strong enough to stand up to several misogynistic guys on her season, but the girl is only human.
So, what’s the one thing that could scare a girl that ended an engagement on national television? Keep reading to find out.
Hannah Brown’s journey on ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette’
Before she was on Dancing with the Stars, Brown was doing a much different tango. She first entered the world of reality tv when she was fighting for Colton Underwood’s heart on The Bachelor. After getting broken up with in front of the entire country, she decided to try her hand at love again and become the Bachelorette.
Brown’s season of The Bachelorette was plagued with issue after issue. She was shamed for having sex, manipulated, and controlled. In the end, she chose Jed Wyatt but had to end their engagement after finding out that he had a girlfriend the whole time he was on the show.
“I am not with Jed anymore,” she said at the live finale. “The engagement is over, we are not together. That is not what I said yes to. When I said those things, the things that I said to him on my engagement date, I thought that was my day, and I feel like that was taken from me and how special that was, and it’s been really hard to gravel with that, but I know that what I got is not what I ever wanted for a life partner and love that is not built on a foundation of trust and honesty. I have grown so much, and I know I deserved more than that.”
Hannah Brown on ‘Dancing with the Stars’
Coming off of her harsh breakup, America really felt for Brown, which is probably part of the reason she was chosen to go on Dancing with the Stars. Brown was paired with Alan Bersten, but it took her a while to have complete faith in her partner.
“He’s like, ‘Do you trust me?’” Brown said of her partner on Monday’s episode of the Bachelor Party podcast. “I’m like, ‘No, why would I trust you? Did you watch my season?’”
What has been Brown’s biggest fear?
Though she may seem fearless on tv, there is one thing that frightens the former beauty queen.
“If somebody asks me, ‘What’s your hardest struggle?’ I’m like, ‘It’s not pointing my toes … I am scared to fail,” she said on the podcast. “Like, the fear of failure is really scary for me, and I feel like everyone, but for me, I think … sometimes if you’re so scared to fail, then you won’t even try.”
And that fear has especially come out since she began competing on DWTS.
“There have been some times in practice, where I’m like paralyzed,” she said. “I cannot, like, step… because I’m scared.”
But she knows from past experience that even a failure can be a lesson.
“Let’s be honest, there’s a way you could look at my (“Bachelorette”) season, and it could look like, ‘Oh, well she did win,’ but there’s a way to look at it and (think) it failed in the typical way,” she continued. “So, it’s like, OK, so it failed, but what did I learn? And I think that’s the way that I kind of look at it now.”
