Viewers are still getting over the shock of DS Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert) leaving Death in Paradise, and a new love could potentially take their minds off of a heartbroken DI Neville Parker’s (Ralf Little). Eagle-eyed watchers have united online to share their thoughts on a potential Honoré Police Station love affair.
Season 11 of the long-running BBC show started in January 2022.
Five episodes into the current season, and a lot has happened. The most significant event was possibly when Florence left the island to follow her dreams of becoming an undercover agent.
With the hopes of Florence and Neville diminished, the fan-named potential power couple Floreville ended before it even began.
Some fans looking for romantic news put clues together with islanders Officer Marlon Pryce (Tahj Miles) and Sergeant Naomi Thomas (Shantol Jackson) looking like a likely couple.

Taking to the online platform Reddit, mega-fan AGingerKid07 under the title “Possible Marlon/Naomi romance?” said: “I know it’s only been two episodes but does anyone else get the sense that there might be a possible relationship between the two most recent members of Honore Police Station? As if Floreville wasn’t enough.”
Diving deeper into his theory, he continued: “I personally think it’s gonna be a case of opposites attract. Marlon is a bit like Dwayne in the sense that he is quite laid-back and doesn’t take his job too seriously but still works hard and is generally a useful part of the team.
“Naomi, on the other hand, is incredibly ambitious, intelligent and aspires to make a good first impression. On top of that, perhaps after Naomi begins to help Marlon ‘iron out his kinks’ they’ll start to form a closer relationship.”
Clearly investing a lot of time in this potential scenario, viewers of the BBC show chimed in with their take on this possible love connection.
Not ignoring the fact that “Marlon essentially flirts with every girl on the island” the forum theorist thought “perhaps Naomi is going to be the first woman he spends time with and starts to value more”.
Ged_UK added: “Marlon does seem to have a crush developing.”
“I’m hoping this doesn’t happen because they work so well as friends/partners and a relationship would throw off that whole dynamic,” Moneypenny3121 proclaimed.
Long time viewer Kooky-Minimum-2597 has learnt not to trust their intuition: “Yeah, I get a best friends vibe off them. Mind you, I would have said that about Florence and Neville after two episodes of last series and we all know what happened there.”

The topic of conversation split watchers of the show, with many wanting the relationship to blossom with others wanting them to remain friends firmly.
Florence left in episode four of the current outing in a shocking season moment.
36-year-old actress Josephine joined the series at the beginning of its fourth season in 2015.
Previously the star has commented on her replacement: “Without giving away anything, someone is going to take my place, and she’s going to be amazing, I know this.”
Fans are dubious that Josephine will stay away for good, having left the show once before.
“So when I left in series eight, I thought it would be for good,” Josephine said.
“Then they called me back for a series 10, and I thought about it for quite a long time. Should I come back?
“How could I say no? I decided to come back, and I was really happy about it, because it was in the 10th anniversary and it was like okay, why not?”
Death in Paradise airs on Friday at 9 pm on BBC One.
