EastEnders sparks backlash over ending credits as fans say they werent ready

Fans of Eastenders have sobbed as they bid farewell to Bobby Brazier as he left the BBC soap earlier this week.

Bobby's character Freddie Slater seemingly left the nightly show after stepping in to save cousin Stacey from being horrifically raped by nasty Theo Hawthorne. Freddie opted to batter the baddie and was arrested soon after the incident.

After taking some time in police custody, Freddie returned to the Square. In order to protect him, granny Jean, played by Gillian Wright, believed that the best course of action for the cheeky chap was to leave Walford and spend time with mum Little Mo.

Despite being unsure of what he should do, Freddie decided to leave the Square and stay with his mum. As the end credits for the soap began to roll, Slater could be seen in the car leaving the Square.

Fans of the show immediately took to social media to give their thoughts on Bobby's departure from the soap. One user commented: "I love Freddie and Jean as a friendship on Eastenders, and Jean stepping up for him and telling the detective off was great. Great work by Bobby Brazier and Gillian Wright!"

A second fan was left baffled at his quick decision to leave the Square, writing: "Where has Freddie gone? I was busy drinking my wine, I wasn't listening!" Whilst a third viewer joked: "Nah, I wasn't ready to say bye to Freddie… clever way to write Bobby out for Strictly… come back with ya muvva!"

Brazier, 20, has left the cobbles behind as he takes part in the BBC dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing. Partnered with Diane Buswell, the cheeky London lad has been tipped as one of the favourites to win the show after winning the public over with his mischievous personality.

In the opening weeks of the competition, Bobby and Diane scored highly with the judges. Their combined score over their first two dances was a sky-high 58 points; one of the highest combined scores of the series.
