Since arriving in the village DI Mark Malone (played by Mark Womack) has caused nothing but trouble for the residents. And Emmerdale fans are eagerly awaiting the day the corrupt cop is either dragged away in handcuffs or killed. Following tonight’s episode of the popular ITV soap, it seems Malone’s downfall lies in his own hands after making a huge slip-up. But will Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) have the courage to finally take down his rival?
Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Malone have been having an affair for the past couple of months.
Despite the vicar’s protests about wanting to end the affair, it is clear; Malone is not going to stop fighting for her.
In scenes which aired tonight, Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) found out about Harriet’s infidelity, as well as her estranged husband’s connections to Malone.
Harriet was adamant she had finished sneaking around with Malone, but it seems Malone is going nowhere.

“I’ve been looking for you, Malone’s back,” Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) told Cain.
“Since when?” The garage owner asked.
“Couple of days at least, he’s been harassing Dawn. Harriet reckons she’s seen him off but, I’m not buying it,” Will explained.
“Well, it’s not my problem,” Cain dismissed but Will was adamant: “Are you going to wait until he comes after your kids before you do something about it?”
Those watching at home saw Cain reply: “What are you suggesting?”
But their conversation was interrupted by a car revving its way through the village.
“No wonder the country’s in such a state, people hanging around pubs in the middle of the day! So what’s new fellas?” Malone remarked stepping out of the vehicle.
“What did I say about coming around here?” Cain growled
“Was it ‘don’t?’” Malone mocked. “It’s just that I have a lot of conversations with losers like you and him so it’s hard to keep track of who said what – hang on a minute!”
Cain looked as if he was going to attack the police officer, and Malone continued: “If you want to do that, do you want to do it there so I can get it on the dash cam?”

“Stay away,” Cain warned.
“I was, I was going to stay away, but you know how it is!” Malone argued.
“Things happen, plans change, you meet that special person, so now I’ve got a personal interest in this place. So, guess I’ll be seeing you around.”
With that he jumped back in his car and sped off leaving Cain and Will utterly confused.
“What was that supposed to mean?” Will asked but Cain remained silent, possibly planning his next move.
Malone has only made enemies in Emmerdale, and it seems it could be left up to Cain to get rid of him once and for all.
But how is he going to do such a thing?

Perhaps Cain is going to play Malone at his own game and set him up.
Malone mentioned a dashcam which is on his car, so what footage has the device captured?
With the help of Will, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle, Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and possibly Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) could Cain set up an intervention which gets caught on camera and sees Malone arrested by one of his very own?
After all, there are plenty of police officers who Malone currently controls, therefore there is a strong chance they would like to be free from his stronghold and see the corrupt cop taken down once and for all.
Emmerdale airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 7pm on ITV.
