Emmerdales Danny Miller teases permanent return as he wants to commit to show

Emmerdale star Danny Miller says he has a "family that needs feeding" as he discusses his return to the ITV soap.

The 32-year-old left viewers stunned last week when he returned to the show to reprise his role as Aaron Dingle. The star previously left the drama in 2021 but came back briefly last year during Emmerdale's 50th anniversary.

Speaking openly about his highly anticipated comeback in a recent press screening, actor Danny teased that he hopes to stay for a longer duration this time. The star, who is now father to two children, also expressed that he has a lot more on his plate this time round.

Talking candidly to Daily Star and other associated press, he said: "It's almost like a new job for me because I see it completely differently. I've obviously been back a couple of times but this time I'm very appreciative of the job."

He added: "I'm very thankful for being back here and obviously I have a family now that need feeding so for that, it makes it a fun way to do that. And obviously being around the corner from them now because we relocated over here and stuff, shows that I really want to commit to the show and just show them and the audience how much I love it and how much respect and thanks I got for it."

Danny, who went on to win ITV's I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2021, also went on to share what viewers will expect from his character this time around. Explaining Aaron's mental state, he said: "His state of mind is that he didn't want to come back. He was kind of on a self-destructive path which meant that he was more than happy to sort of either kill or be killed over there in Italy.

It's actually Adam who makes the call to tell Cain it's that very much that case where he knew he was gonna be killed or someone's gonna kill him because he's just off the rails. He's lost the plot entirely.

"So this state of mind is very much that he's very selfish, quite angry and maybe slightly depressed in a sort of way I guess from everything that's happened and he's not dealt with the grief very well. So the state of mind is just angry at everybody and he's just constantly looking for a fight."
