Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster returned to GB News on Thursday to host their weekday breakfast show. However, as the pair discussed the “levelling up” strategy, designed to improve services across the country, Eamonn shared his fury at the amount of funding to fix Britain’s road being cut.
Eamonn vented: “A few weeks ago we had national pothole day and we were talking about it on the programme and we were saying great things were going to be done.
“No, no, no. The government announce they’re going to spend money here and there.”
“They’ve got quite a bit to-do list, haven’t they?” Isabel interjected.
Eamonn continued: “Wait a minute then they take money away and don’t say anything about it.
“And then it comes to light the funding to fix our roads has been cut by nearly half a billion pounds so they did that one quietly, didn’t they?
“£400million lost in total would be enough to fill twelve million potholes. It’s just not taken seriously.”
