Friends child star who played Ross Geller's older son Ben is unrecognisable as huge Netflix star

FRIENDS child star Cole Sprouse is unrecognisable 22 years after he played Ross Geller's older son Ben on the popular sitcom.

Cole – who was in the role at Ben’s prankster best – went on to star in Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Suite Life on Deck alongside his twin brother Dylan.

However, actor Cole did not always play the role of Ben, there were four three actors before him.

The first kid to arrive in the lives of the sixsome was Ben Geller, Ross’s son from ex-wife Carol, who appeared in 16 episodes of the series.

Ben would now be 29 years old, which may make many devotees feel a little on the ancient side.

In fact, the mischievous lad was played by four different actors, starting with Michael Gunderson as baby Ben in season two then twin toddlers Charles Thomas Allen and John Christopher Allen.

Fans of the sitcom will know Ben didn’t appear after season eight, and was only mentioned a handful of times after that.

Three-times divorced Ross went on to have Emma with Rachel, but his first child was seemingly forgotten.

In 2019,the actor opened up about why he thought the character was ‘killed off’.

Replying to questions online for GQ on Youtube, a fan asked Cole on Twitter: “How do you feel about basically being killed off of Friends?”

Cole revealed: “Critics would agree that Ross was never really the most present father.

“And so it doesn't surprise me too much.”

The part was the first Cole played solo, without it being split with his identical twin, Dylan.

Cole added: “Honestly, our appearance as the same character was sort of dependent on how much screen time we had.

“In Friends, for example, my role was not too present.

“They only really needed to hire one twin, because both of us were incredibly expensive.”

In 2017, Cole – who was nine when he started playing Ben – admitted he had a crush on his Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston.

"I had a really, really hard time working with Aniston because I was so in love with her,” he told the New York Post.

“I was infatuated. I was speechless — I’d get all bubbly and forget my lines and completely blank… It was so difficult.”

For the last four years Cole, now 29 and seriously hot, has starred as Jughead Jones on Netflix television series Riverdale.

In 2019, Cole starred in romantic drama Five Feet Apart, where he plays a cystic fibrosis patient who falls in love with a girl with the same disease.

It was his second lead role in a major theatrical film, 20 years after his first, Big Daddy back in 1999.

In 2021, he was cast in US science-fiction romantic comedy Moonshoot, alongside X-Men: Apocalypse star Lana Condor.

He split from co-star Lili Reinhart in January 2020, after three years, and was rumoured to be dating Canadia model Reina Silva and more recently he's been linked to French-Canadian model Ari Fournier.
