Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Sicily trailer
On Tuesday night, the second instalment of Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Sicily continued as BBC viewers saw the Strictly stars journey through Mount Etna, Europe’s highest and most active volcano. However, there were a few activities Anton Du Beke planned that Giovanni Pernice wasn’t too happy about.
Towards the end of the show, Anton decided to tell Giovanni he had a surprise in store for him as they made their way to a helicopter.
To the professional dancers’ surprise, former Strictly Come Dancing winner Rose Ayling Ellis hopped out after Anton decided to get her to come and join them on their travels.
Commenting on inviting her, the BBC judge said: “I thought this would be a lovely surprise for Giovanni because they have a wonderful relationship and a wonderful bond.”
The trio took a ride in the helicopter as they went over Mount Etna and were in awe of the viewers before Anton drove them to their next destination.
In the car, he asked Giovanni what he was scared of and the 32-year-old confidently told Anton he doesn’t have any fears.
Although Rose chimed in from the back of the car commenting: “You have a fear of being out of control.”
It looked as though the EastEnders stars’ comments were true as Giovanni learnt they would all be doing a one-mile zip wire over the countryside mountains.
Once Rose and Anton had gone it was time for Giovanni to get strapped in with it clear he was unsure about the experience.
Screaming on the way down, he told the camera afterwards: “It’s the most terrifying experience I’ve ever done in my entire life.
“I can’t watch the view because I shut my eyes all the way.
“I didn’t like it, I didn’t enjoy it, not for me. Thank you very much, see you later.”
When he got to the bottom of the zip wire, Rose was worried about him as she told Anton he didn’t look happy.

Getting clipped out of the equipment, the dancer clearly wanted to make a swift exit as he told them all it was time to go and he’d never do that again.
Although his two friends were thrilled with the experience as Anton joked he and Rose were going to do it again in tandem with one another.
Before taking off at the top of the mountain, Giovanni made it clear to viewers he liked to be in control of situations which is why he wasn’t eager about the surprise Anton had organised.
He commented: “While I was waiting, I felt nervous, petrified and I was sh***ng my pants.”
However, there may be more surprises in store for the Strictly star next week as the third episode continues with them making their way through the centre of the island in the final leg of their trip.
A synopsis reads: “They try their hands at pasta-making and synchronised swimming before heading to the outskirts of Palermo where Giovanni has lined up an overnight stay with a group of beer-brewing monks.
“Finally, they head into Palermo where Anton meets Giovanni’s parents and unveils a surprise birthday.”
Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Sicily continues Tuesdays on BBC One at 9pm
