During her appearance, Lorraine was joined by Wet, Wet, Wet singer Kevin Simm as well as ITV soap boss John Whiston. During a chat with the latter, the pair revealed to viewers exactly what social distancing measures would be in place when soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street return to filming this month. However, during the chat, fans were caught off-guard when John swore live on air.
The soap boss told Lorraine about the stark differences in appearance several actors had when they return to the set.
He then admitted to adding lines to the script in order to “take the p**s” out of the hair of some of the soap stars.
The expletive certainly raised eyebrows, especially as Lorraine appeared to have missed it.
Taking to Twitter, one fan said: “Taking the p**s out of his hair [laughing emoji]. Not sure that can be said #Lorraine.”

A second agreed: “‘Taking the p**s out of his hair’ just casually ignored. [laughing emoji] #lorraine.”
While a third added: “Ha ha. Taking the p**s out of his hair #lorraine. Funny, but I bet they get loads of complaints.”
And a fourth called for an apology: “@GMB anyone else just heard chap talking about return to soaps swear?
“I DEFINITELY heard him say ‘taking the piss’ with reference to actors dying and cutting their hair during lock down, why has Lorraine not apologised?!?!?”
