Kate Garraway jokes Adil is ‘wounded’ after Ben Shephard comment
Good Morning Britain’s Adil Ray was left slightly offended when Iain Dale joked bosses should bring back Ben Shephard to host.
On Friday’s instalment of the ITV show, Adil and Kate Garraway were discussing the latest headlines with Iain and Jacqui Smith.
As the discussion came to an end, Adil couldn’t help but take a swipe at the latest football scores.
He said: “Jackie and Iain, thanks very much for joining us and we never mentioned Aston Villa once.”
However, Iain replied: “You had to ruin it didn’t you?!”

In the background, Jackie could be heard highlighting that the team had a huge victory over West Ham last Sunday.
Deciding to take a cheeky swipe at Adil, Iain added: “Bring back Ben Shephard I say.”
Clearly caught off-guard by the light-hearted jibe, the GMB presenter pulled a shocked face as Kate picked up on his response.
She replied: “Oh dear, he’s wounded now, you’ve hurt his feelings!”

As the panel all were laughing at Iain’s swipe, he told Adil he took the comment back as Kate continued to the next segment.
Usually, Ben Shephard can be seen co-hosting the ITV show on Fridays, although he has been absent from the hot seat this week.
It’s not known why the 48-year-old isn’t hosting alongside Kate this week, however, it may be down to the presenter shake-up for half term.
Regular host Susanna Reid is taking a break from her role with Kate stepping in this week with Christine Lampard filling in for Lorraine.
Adil returned to Good Morning Britain this week as he joined Kate for Thursday and Friday’s show.
Taking to Twitter at the end of the week, he told fans to tune into the show as it’ll be his last for a while.
Viewers were thrilled to see Adil back on-screen as @maggiebyton replied: “Sure will[sic] sorry it’s your last one for a while [sic]but never mind still got LINGO.”
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
