The Money Saving Expert founder will be appearing regularly on Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid as of Wednesday, March 29. The pair will be kicking off with an end-of-tax-year special for ITV viewers. The announcement comes two years after Piers Morgan famously quit the show following an on-air row with weather presenter Alex Beresford.
Martin has hosted the programme on several occasions and he also fronts The Martin Lewis Money show which has been nominated in the Best Features category for this year’s BAFTA TV Awards.
Following his Good Morning Britain announcement, Martin said: “To have the ability to hold politicians to account, over the cost of living, is a privilege and a responsibility.
“It’s a slight gear change from my usual work, but after years of answering complex questions, it’s nice for once to be asking them.
“So I was delighted when ITV offered me the role of regular presenter.
“The difficulty came with working it around my day-job, as the Money Saving Expert, which is always my priority,” he added.
“So I’m hopeful the solution we’ve come up with, to lock in a dozen special shows a year, sitting alongside Susanna Reid’s brilliant journalism, is one the show’s viewers will welcome.”
Meanwhile, Susanna shared: “Martin Lewis is undoubtedly the voice of the nation when it comes to the cost of living crisis.
“Together we will continue to challenge politicians and hold them to account.
“I can’t wait to have him sitting next to me again at the GMB desk from next week.”
The news programme is celebrating one of its best starts to a year since 2014, with a weekly reach of 4.7 million.
Susanna’s last permanent Good Morning Britain co-star was 57-year-old broadcaster Piers.
He sensationally walked off the set and quit the programme following a row over comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex.

Piers now has his own weeknight news programme on TalkTV called Piers Morgan: Uncensored.
Susanna, who marked her 20-year milestone as a broadcaster, told Good Morning Britain viewers earlier this week: “Just a huge thank you to Piers Morgan of this parish, five years alongside him.
“He made me bolder, more argumentative, more difficult I think, more probing, asking tricky questions and going into battle every morning.”
