GOOD Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley has revealed the tragic reason he missed daughter Chloe’s birth to her first baby.
The 35-year-old and her husband James Haskell, 37, welcomed their daughter into the world in August.
Chloe gave birth to their daughter Bodhi on Wednesday 10 August at 10.36am.
Unfortunately Richard wasn't there for the birth of his granddaughter as he was presenting Good Morning Britain with Charlotte Hawkins.
During today's instalment of the ITV breakfast show, he confessed: "Well on my very last day doing the show in the middle of August a couple of months ago, I couldn’t tell you at the time because my didn’t want me say anything but she was in labour.
"She was having the baby, and the baby was actually born at 8:40am, while we were in the commercial break, which was very handy."

Although he missed out on welcoming Bodhi into the world, Richard has spent a lot of time with her over the last few months.
He told Susanna: "Our house in London has been baby central, because Chloe, her husband and the baby have been living with us, because their house is being done up.
"So they’ve been living with us for three months, and I love it! You just go in and it’s like “baby, baby, baby everywhere."
Back in August Chloe, who is the daughter of Richard and Judy Finnigan, had revealed that she had given birth to her first child.

"Our baby girl was born Wednesday morning, 10/08/22, 8.36am."
Days later Chloe revealed that she had an emergency C-section and opened up about her big parenting fear on social media.
Chloe told fans on Instagram: "The thing I was most apprehensive about my whole pregnancy? It wasn’t the childbirth, which I was quietly certain would go to plan [laughing emoji].
“It wasn’t the fact we were moving house at 37 weeks. It was breastfeeding, which I was absolutely certain would fall apart for me in a matter of days, if not hours, like it did for so many friends and family members of mine.
“What I learned throughout my pregnancy, and what I’ve learned since in the postnatal period, is not to take your body personally (even though your visceral reaction will likely tell you to). Don’t do it.
