THIS is the moment Gordon Ramsay jumped a red light while out cycling around Cornwall in a moment one angry local claimed could have caused a crash.
Dashcam footage shows the 53-year-old celebrity chef – in a group with two others on his 26-mile trip – heading towards a junction where the light indicated for them to stop.
It shows the first two riders heading straight past it, while the female cyclist stopped at the lights.
A vehicle was then filmed coming over the narrow Trewornan Bridge with one eyewitness saying it very nearly could have been the scene of "a nasty accident".
Branding Kitchen Nightmares star Gordon a "t**t" they explained: "A car was coming the other way who had to slam on his brakes.”
The incident took place on the road between Wadebridge and Trebetherick, where the chef and his family are staying in his £4.4million holiday home.
Further footage shows the car catching up with Gordon, who is dressed in the same black and red Lycra outfit he later posed in on Instagram, after stopping at the lights.
The fuming local admitted they didn't realise at first the person they accused of breaking the rules was the famously fiery chef, who is worth an estimated £173 million.
The Sun Online first reported the local's claims yesterday – but a rep for the star said the claims were untrue and that the incident “didn’t happen”. Today, when shown the dashcam footage, they had no comment.
Under the Road Traffic Act everyone must stop for red lights, regardless of whether they are in a car or on a bike.
Gordon hasn't been welcomed in Cornwall after quitting London and deciding to spend lockdown in the county with wife Tana, 21-year-old Meghan, 20-year-old twins Holly and Jack, 17-year-old Tilly, and baby Oscar.
Writing on social media, one local seethed: “Don’t you realise that by doing that you’ve possibly brought the virus with you?
"Because Cornwall is not your main residence, if you and your family get sick you will place yet more strain on an already fragile infrastructure.
“I’m reporting you to the police. What you’ve done is against the law and I hope they force you back to London.”
Others have objected to him taking long cycle rides around the West Country with one fuming: "Get yourself back in the house, what the f**k.”
He has also sparked the ire of fans after taking part in a 'Stay Home' YouTube campaign having decamped to Cornwall to see out lockdown.
A video posted on YouTube of Gordon encouraging everyone to "stay home" was captioned: "Stay home and cook with Gordon Ramsay. There's so much we can do together, even whilst we're apart. #WithMe."
But fans soon complained he wasn't the right celebrity to be leading the campaign.
One said: Just a quick reminder that appearing on the youtube "stay at home #WithMe" campaign while actually being at your holiday home in Cornwall, putting locals at risk and disobeying government advice, makes you a massive f***ing hypocrite."
Born in Johnstone, Scotland, Gordon had a football career as a young man, claiming to have played two games for Rangers, before going to catering college aged 19.
He rose to become one of the most celebrated – and fearsome – chefs in the county, fronting shows including The F Word and Hell's Kitchen.
