<p>Former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton appeared on “The View” on Monday morning, and she wasted no time in giving her honest opinion of the Republican party under Donald Trump.</p>
<p>Though Clinton was on the show to promote her new book, the panel of women promptly dove into the state of current politics. Host Sara Haines posed the question of whether the Capitol insurrection on Jan. 6 marked a moment where Trump brought the country close to “a full constitutional crisis.”</p>
<p>“You know, I think we not only came close to a full constitutional crisis, I think we’re still in it,” Clinton said. She later added: “I think we’re at a very dangerous, continuing high-level attack on the legitimacy of our government and the election of our president. And obviously, our former president is not only behind it, he incited it, he encouraged it, and he continues to do so.”</p>

<p>Clinton then called out the GOP leaders who have gone along with and helped perpetuate Trump’s words over the last two years. You can watch her full remarks in the video above.</p>
<p>“You have leaders of the Republican party who have willingly gone along as though they’re members of the cult,” Clinton said. “Not a political party, but a cult. And their continuing attacks on the election, their refusal to say ‘You know what, we’ve counted these votes, it’s over. We’re gonna move on’ has sown so much doubt.”</p>
<p>Combining that, with the disinformation perpetuated on social media, the former Democratic presidential candidate called things a “volatile” mix leading to a continued and “concerted, well-funded effort to undermine American democracy.”</p>

<p>Unfortunately, Clinton didn’t seem too optimistic for what’s to come in 2024. She confidently noted that “if he wants to be the nominee, he will be the nominee.” And that’s what worries her about the Republican party.</p>
<p>“It says volumes about the Republican party today. That someone who has the record of attacking our own government, of lying to people about the biggest health crisis that we’ve had in over 100 years — namely: COVID — and the list goes on, is considered the leader because they’re all afraid of the mob that he has created and that he keeps energized.”</p>
