Home Alone reboot confirmed by Disney+ with Jojo Rabbit’s Archie Yates taking over from Macaulay Culkin – The Sun

HOME Alone will be getting a small screen reboot but Macaulay Culkins Kevin will not make an appearance.

Jojo Rabbit star Archie Yates, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney will all reportedly star in the original film which will follow a new character who finds himself in a similar situation to Kevin.

It will air on Disney+ and is the first original scripts to be announced since the streaming service was launched in the United States in November.

Yates will play the youngster who finds himself left at home alone at Christmas.

Home Alone followed eight-year-old Kevin McCallister who acts out the night before a family trip to Paris and so his mother makes him sleep in the attic.

After the McCallisters mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, he awakens to an empty house and assumes his wish to have no family has come true.




But his excitement soon fades when he realises that two burglars plan to rob the McCallister residence, and that he alone must protect the family home.

Disney+ is a paid subscription service, which is free from advertising and has content from Disney and Fox including exclusive TV shows, movies, documentaries and shorts.

Content from Marvel, Lucasfilm (i.e Star Wars), Pixar, National Geographic and all 30 seasons of The Simpsons are included too.


In addition, Disney’s other streaming services – Hulu and ESPN Plus – will run on the same platform.

It launched in the USA, Canada and the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand in November however, the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain will have a little wait yet – as it won't be available for them until March 31, 2020.
