I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! bosses are reportedly worried that the ITV reality show will suffer from a mass walk-out after three more people require some form of medical assistance.
It comes as Richard Madeley made a completely unexpected departure from Gwrych Castle in Wales early Thursday morning, after he became ill in the middle of the night.
The Good Morning Britain presenter received treatment after being rushed to hospital, and the star said he was completely “fine”.
But unfortunately Richard, 65, had to withdraw from the show due to breaking the group’s covid bubble.
There is now reportedly concern for Dame Arlene Phillips’ health, as the 78 year old dance choreographer is taking daily painkillers.
DJ Naughty Boy, 36, whose real name is Shahid Khan, has also asked to have counselling as he’s struggling with his mum’s health following her dementia diagnosis.
The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge has also developed an unexplained rash on her arm.
A source told The Sun that the show “can’t afford to lose any more big names”.
The publication also claimed that producers also fear “flagging morale” in the camp, especially with the threat of Storm Arwen bringing snowfall and 80mph winds.
“Spirits were already rock bottom at the start of the week with The Clink and Main Camp split,” the source continued. “But there are growing concerns for Arlene who is really struggling and in chronic pain.
“She is being helped around by the likes of David Ginola and Naughty Boy and is looking really frail. It’s hard enough roughing it in the ruins of an old castle let alone at 78 years old.
“She is a trooper and wants to show everyone how tough she is. But there may come a point where the decision is taken out of her hands.”
The source added that Naughty Boy has spoken to the I’m A Celebrity psychologist and has been having a “tough time”.
OK! has contacted a representative at ITV for a comment.
It comes as Richard told his followers he was “gutted” to leave the show after a dramatic turn of events.
He said he’d already made some amazing friends and had memories for life after his whirlwind journey on the show.
“Gutted to be leaving so soon but the safety of all the campmates is the No1 priority,” Richard wrote on his Instagram page.
“I’m incredibly excited to watch their journey continue — even more so at the prospect of being somewhere a little warmer,” Richard added.
An ITV spokesman told The Sun: “Richard was unwell in the early hours and was immediately seen by our on-site medical team. He’s since been taken to hospital as a precaution. The health and safety of our campmates is our priority.”
