Inside Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee's sex tape scandal after footage was 'stolen from a safe' in couple's Malibu mansion

PAMELA Anderson & Tommy Lee's steamy romance captivated fans in the '90s with their wild rock n' roll lifestyle, which also led to a sex tape scandal that would follow them for decades.

In honor of the premiere of the series Pam & Tommy being released this week on multiple streaming platforms, here's a highlight reel of the former couple's intense relationship.

The show takes viewers through the real-life antics of the Baywatch star's romance with her first husband, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee who she wed after knowing for only four days.

But before their lives were turned into a TV script, Pamela and Tommy were two young Hollywood stars in love, first locking eyes in 1995 at a club.

Tommy had recently split from his second wife, actress Heather Locklear and had taken over the music scene with his popular heavy metal band.

While Pamela was one of the leading ladies on the beloved NBC series, Baywatch, and had made strides in the modeling industry with already a cover shot in Playboy magazine.

Their romance moved quickly as the lovebirds tied the knot on a beach in Cancun, Mexico only days after meeting.

He later told Rolling Stone magazine about the proposal: "She said yes, hugged me and stuck her tongue down my throat.”

After that, they continued to live a life of sex, drugs and rock n ’roll at Tommy’s home in Malibu —and even went on to have two children together.

Their eldest son Brandon Thomas, 26, followed in his mother's footsteps and is an actor and model appearing in numerous on-screen rolls including Sierra Burgess Is a Loser and the MTV reality series, The Hills: New Beginnings.

While their second-born child Dylan Jagger, 24, also kept close to his family roots as a runway model and musician.

Dylan worked with high-fashion brands such as Armani Exchange, Dolce & Gabbana, and Hugo Boss, while keeping hold of his true passion of music, playing in the band Midnight Kids before deciding to go solo in 2021.

However, their wild escapades followed them after a sex tape they made was famously leaked.

SEX TAPE

The newlywed couple recorded their private bedroom antics on their honeymoon, but the tape was stolen from Tommy’s safe creating one of the most talked about scandals in Hollywood.

Soon it ended up online and within a year had earned more than $81M in paid-for views, with punters across the world desperate to see the 34DD blonde fully naked.

Pamela, now 54, was distraught and the episode drove a wedge between her and the musician, 59, leading to their divorce just three years later.

It was something she couldn’t ever bear to watch, saying: “Someone stole the safe and spliced together the different times and said there was a sex tape.

“I have never ever seen it. And it was not something you want anyone to see.”

Tommy believes that one of the contractors who were working on the renovation of his London home where the pair were staying removed the safe.

The finger of blame pointed at disgruntled electrician Rand Gauthier, who was working at the home at the time of the theft.

Later they received a call from a porn industry insider saying they would release the compromising recording.

According to Pamela it was just a collection of their intimate moments, saying: “Tommy and I were naked at all times. We videoed lots of different things in our life and we put all of the tapes and video cameras in a safe.”

There was only one scene of full blown intercourse on the whole thing.

Tommy and Pamela say they agreed to allow it to be broadcast on the internet one time only.

And then, without their permission, it was turned into a tape available for purchase at regular outlets.

They sued Internet Entertainment Group in 1998 for $95M, but were later granted $740,000 a piece after IEG's reps failed to appear in court to defend the company.

Matters were made worse when Internet Entertainment Group also put out a sex tape involving Pamela and Poison frontman Bret Michaels from their time together in 1993.

TUMULTUOUS SPLIT

The couple were already on a downward spiral, which turned worse as Tommy's abusive behavior escalated.

The pair got into a vicious slanging match in 1998 that ended with Tommy kicking out at Pamela while she was holding baby Dylan.

He was jailed for six months in May of that year after pleading guilty to assaulting his wife.

Bigger charges of possession of a firearm and violating his parole were dropped.

On his release Tommy was ordered to give up drinking alcohol and stay away from his ex. The alternative was another three years in jail.

After a heated custody battle, the former lovers attempted to rekindle their broken relationship in 2008, but separated for good shortly after.

She admitted at the time that while she was in love with Tommy, she could not live with him.

Pamela explained: “I have tortured myself over it for years and was devastated and depressed about that relationship.

“I think I’ve just tried to attach myself to anybody who’d create a family, but the people I attracted weren’t really the fairy tale I planned.”

NEW LOVERS

Both appeared to move on in their love lives, as Tommy married actress Jayne Furlan in 2019.

Pamela attempted to find love with four more husbands as she wed rapper Kid Rock – and poker player Rick Salomon twice.

She also infamously split from Jon Peters in 2020 after reports surfaced they were married, despite her claims that she "was never married" to the film producer.

Earlier this month, she announced her divorce from her former bodyguard Dan Hayhurst.

She filed for divorce in January 2022 after a little over a year into their marriage, according to Rolling Stone.

PAM & TOMMY

Fans are buzzing over Pamela and Tommy's past relationship once again as the new series documenting their whirlwind romance – and infamous sex tape – drops this week.

The big-name cast includes Lily James who stars as Pamela, Sebastian Stan as Tommy, and Seth Rogen took on the role as Rand Gauthier, the former porn actor turned electrician who stole the sex tape from the rocker's home.

Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, and Mozhan Marnò also have starring roles in the series.

Pam & Tommy was first announced in 2020. Filming for the series began in April 2021 in Los Angeles, and reportedly does not include any input from Pamela & Tommy themselves.

While fans can't wait to tune into the highly-anticipated show, the Playboy Playmate is not so thrilled about her life being turned into entertainment.

A friend of Pamela's told The Sun exclusively: “Pamela has no intention of watching this God awful show, absolutely not. Never."

The friend continued: “She’s never heard of the actors playing her or Tommy, and doesn’t care to know them."

"She and her family think the show is a cheap knockoff. The whole thing is a joke to them,” the friend concluded.

The eight-part limited series will premiere on Hulu, Disney+, and Star+ on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
