Lala Kent is getting married to her man Randall Emmett in what is sure to be an extravagant wedding. There are a lot of questions around the details of the big day and one important one is who will be officiating the ceremony. One recurring name that fans keep suggesting is Lisa Vanderpump’s, but what does Kent really want?
Lala Kents spills the tea on wedding plans
Kent appeared on Watch What Happens Live this past week where she opened up about her big plans for her wedding. One big revelation was that the location had changed and she would no longer tie the knot in Miami as she originally planned
“We switched to Newport Beach,” she said. “The weather in Miami is too volatile. And my dad loves Newport — or, loved Newport — so it just sat well with me.”
The Vanderpump Rules star had previously stated she did not want her wedding to be on the show, but she is having second thoughts on that idea.
“I like to hold things close to my heart, but I’m not gonna cancel anything out. Whatever happens, happens,” she added.
Kent admitted that she and her fiancé are signing prenups.
As far as bridesmaids go, she definitely wants Stassi Schroeder, Katie Maloney and Brittany Cartwright there to share her joy. Note that Kent did not mention her other Vanderpump Rules co-stars that include Kristen Doute, Ariana Madix, and Scheana Shay.
During Season 7 of the reality show, Kent was at odds with former friend James Kennedy and his girlfriend Raquel Leviss. The dynamics seemed to have changed recently when Kent revealed she would invite the couple to her wedding.
There have been two weddings on Vanderpump Rules, the first one between Maloney and Tom Schwartz and the one filmed for the upcoming season between Cartwright and Jax Taylor. Vanderpump officiated the first one and was to preside the second one but stepped down after the passing of her mother. Don’t expect the restaurant mogul to be asked to officiate Kent’s wedding though.
“I’m supposed to be the star of that day!” Kent told Cohen on WWHL. “No!”
Lisa Vanderpump will expand her role on ‘Vanderpump Rules’
Although Kent doesn’t want Vanderpump to officiate her ceremony, the Vanderpump Rules producer will have an expanded role during Season 8.
“Lisa is excited to be featured more on this season of Vanderpump Rules,” a close source told Hollywood Life. “At first, she was deciding what to do about returning to Housewives so she didn’t want to film for Vanderpump Rules at the same time, however, once the decision was made to quit [RHOBH], she couldn’t wait to be featured on camera more.”
“[Vanderpump] was hanging out with the cast much more, wanted to be included in the trips, showing up to events, etc. You will be seeing a lot more Lisa next season now that she’s got more time to film with the ‘kids’ as she calls them,” the insider added.
It was in June of this year when Vanderpump announced she was quitting The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“The last year was a very negative year for me,” she told Extra. “I feel like we’re moving forward. They have had their resolution. I just had a horrible time with the show and the women. It was a very sad time in my life and it wasn’t made any better. I just decided to walk away.”
