Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) loses his temper with son Archie Breckle (Kai Assi) in Emmerdale next week as he continues to come to terms with the loss of beloved dad Rishi (Bhasker Patel).
Rishi was found dead earlier this week, having taken a turn on the day of Jai’s wedding to Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), with Jai being the one to make the discovery.
The tragic death is hard enough for the businessman to cope with but this coupled with the fact that he was at odds with Rishi prior to his passing is playing over and over in his mind, as he knows he’ll never have the chance to make things right.
With word of Rishi’s demise having spread around the eponymous village, next week will see Jai and Laurel come together to break the news to the children during incredibly emotional scenes on Monday (July 31).
Archie, much like everyone else, struggles to process the news – but matters are complicated further when Jai snaps at him, leaving the little lad upset. Laurel, meanwhile, can’t help but feel for Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), who received the brunt of Jai’s grief on Friday (July 28).
Jai, as viewers will know, holds Suni responsible for the death of his beloved dad, given that he failed to return home to Holdgate on the day of the wedding, instead spending the night with Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope).
Can Suni forgive himself? What’s more, will Jai come to realise that it wasn’t Suni’s fault?
That remains to be seen, but subsequent scenes will see Jai hit with the realisation that his dad is dead as he finally starts to process his grief, with some assistance from Archie as they light candles around a picture of the patriarch.
Jai, however, resolves to keep the truth about his parentage, specifically the bit about how he and Suni are siblings and not cousins, from Suni, who remains in the dark.

But questions are soon asked when Jai snaps at him over the possibility of ringing Amit, their biological father, about the funeral arrangements.
Tom King (James Chase), meanwhile, returns from his weekend away and is devastated to learn about Rishi, who he’d bonded with in recent weeks since moving into Holdgate.
The vet, however, is soon doing his best to support everyone, sharing a USB full of Rishi’s photos, with the family gathering around to look over the pictures, reminiscing and remembering Rishi with fondness.
One to watch:Monday July 31 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
