Jenna Ortega's Iconic Dance Scene From Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ Has Everyone Losing It

Regardless of whether or not you’ve watched (or binged, in my case) Jenna Ortega’s newest Netflix show, Wednesday, chances are you’ve probably seen glances of its already-famous dance scene set to the tune of “The Goo Goo Muck” by The Cramps. I mean, the iconic episode 4 moment has become so viral that it even got a shout-out from none other than Lady Gaga. Here’s everything you need to know about the Wednesday dance scene, including Jenna’s inspo for the choreography and one famous Kardashian who channeled her inner Addams on TikTok. P.S. But first, in case you wanna relive the moment, here’s the video in full, which was posted from the ~official~ Wednesday Addams Twitter account. Enjoy!

Dancing is one of my favorite things to do. Along with gravedigging, conducting autopsies, and glaring uncomfortably. pic.twitter.com/q5sHhp82Rr

Jenna Ortega Wednesday herself choreographed the dance

As if we needed any more reasons to be obsessed with Jenna! In a promo video shared by Netflix last week, Jenna revealed, “I choreographed that myself and I think it’s very obvious that I’m not a dancer or choreographer.” Mind=blown 🤯🤯🤯. And her co-stars share a similar sentiment. In the vid, Emma Myers (aka Enid) and Hunter Doohan (aka one of Wednesday’s love interests, Tyler) instantly rebutted and expressed how much they enjoyed watching the series’ protagonist get down. “I can watch an entire show of just this,” admitted Percy Hynes White, who plays Xavier. Honestly, same.

Jenna got major inspo from musicians and other famous faces who have played Wednesday Addams

In a separate tweet, Jenna expressed gratitude for those who inspired the dance, writing, “Thanks to Siouxsie Sioux, Bob Fosse’s Rich Man’s Frug, Lisa Loring, Lene Lovich, Denis Lavant, and archival footage of goths dancing in clubs in the ’80s. Helped me out on this one.” (Lisa herself is best known for having played Wednesday at 6 years old on the 1964–1966 sitcom iteration of The Addams Family.)

One user on the platform even went so far as to include side-by-side vids of these references plus the final scene from Wednesday.

I saw your iconic dance so many times that I decided to search for all the inspirations/references and that’s the result 😍😍 pic.twitter.com/QRpOBdNyPV

Hi, North West is ~casually~ a fan of the number

Because this dance has so! Much! To! Give! TikTok users have started recreating for themselves in a trend set to Lady Gaga’s song “Bloody Mary”…including *the* North West. For her take on the trend, Kim Kardashian’s eldest starts off in a clip singing along to “Bloody Mary” before appearing in a sparkly, black-and-white filter and full-on Wednesday-inspired hair and makeup. Check it out for yourself:

Wednesday, Addams

…As is Lady Gaga

The trend has become so popular that it even got a shout-out from Lady Gaga, who extended an envy-inducing invitation to Wednesday (and Thing, obvi).

Slay Wednesday! 💋 You’re welcome at Haus of Gaga anytime (and bring Thing with you, we love paws around here 😉) https://t.co/aUdJEFYF68
