Laura Whitmore slammed by ex Love Islander saying presenter should be AXED with 'dead and boring reunion show'

FORMER Love Island contestant Amy Day has admitted she's disappointedLaura Whitmore has returned to host the dating show.

The Islander – who rose to fame on the ITV2 programme last summer – admitted she wasn't a big fan of Laura, 37.

Last week, her co-star Rachel Finni hit out that she was "gutted" to see Laura returning as the show's host for another year.

The star took over the hosting role in January 2020 for the first winter edition, ahead of former host Caroline Flack's tragic death.

Many former contestants have hit out that they would've preferred to see a new face hosting, including Maya Jama and AJ Odudu.

Rachel, 29, spoke on the subject in a recent podcast, saying: "I'm kind of gutted Laura Whitmore is hosting… She's not a great host."

Now, Amy, 25, has opened up about how she agrees – saying that Laura's hosting was "a bit dead" during last year's reunion.

She told the Daily Star: "I think it would be nice to have a presenter who throws herself into it and that whole interview that came out of Rachel hit loads of the press and it is true we are all a bit gutted.

"The reunion was a bit dead and boring. It's not necessarily on Laura's presenting skills, but more on the topics and subjects that she touched on.

"We wanted more spice and for her to get to the interesting stuff."
