Linda Robson broke down as she returned to Loose Women after a year-long break, revealing that she had been hospitalised due to her severe OCD.
The panelist, 61, began taking four baths a day, became erratic and was obsessed with social media after struggling with a bad reaction to her medication.
She also confirmed that the police had previously been called to her house because her family had locked her in the property due to her drinking and wanted to keep her safe.
Speaking to Stacey Solomon, Kaye Adams, Jane Moore and Nadia Sawalha, she said that she lost too much weight which she said "made her look 90".
Revealing that everything began to go wrong after the sugar-free diet, which entailed not drinking wine anymore, she began to up the amount of tablets.
"I was having a meltdown. I came off the wine… and then I upped the tablets [and] had a really bad reaction," she said. "I had bad anxiety my OCD kicked into action."
Reiterating that OCD is "not a joke", she said that it began to take over her life.
"The rubbish would have two teabags in it and I would have to take it out," she explained.
Linda also revealed that her co-stars initially believed that she had dementia.
"We were so worried, we watched you losing weight," Nadia agreed. "It was like the dimmer switch was being turned down."
However Nadia said that it all came to a head when they went on holiday to Ibiza together when Linda finally told them she was having struggling.
"That night when we stayed up talking to you," Nadia said. "It was really sad because we saw how much you were struggling."
"That was the first time I'd seen severe OCD," Stacey said. "I remember when we were there and you were rushed to hospital."
Linda broke down in tears as she said that she felt guilty for what she had put her family through.
"I felt so guilty for what i had put my family through. It's been a long long time and touch wood, I'm finally there," Linda said. "That's going to be the hardest thing – to get over what i did to them."
Confirming reports that the police had been called to her house twice in two weeks, she said: "Police were called because I was drinking, [my family] were locking me in and I was shouting 'Let me out'. So that was my family trying to keep me safe."
Linda is no longer drinking after getting help.
After her brave interview, Linda was surrounded by the other panelists and given a big hug.
Linda told the Mirror last year: “I’m coming back to Loose Women. I had a little break, we had a few problems in the family, but I’m fine.”
The Birds of a Feather actress has previously spoken about battling anxiety and was said to have struggled over the festive season.
