Love Island bosses have reportedly decided to ditch a fan-favourite baby challenge as the live final drawers closer.
For nearly a decade, the final five couples have been tasked with looking after crying robot ‘babies’ for 24 hours to prepare them for their relationships outside the villa.
But this year islanders won’t wake up to the sound of screaming babies after ITV bosses appear to have called time on the decade-long tradition.

An insider exclusively told The Sun that the challenge will not take place this year to make room for several new challenges which have debuted in the 10th series.
The source told the publication: “It’s not happening this year – but the show has seen loads of new tasks and challenges that fans have loved.”
The iconic baby challenge has seen some of the most loved moments of the show throughout its 10 years on the airwaves.
Loyal fans still remember when Josh Denzel’s baby’s arm fell off in 2018, and Tommy Fury flipping his baby around the villa the year prior.
In 2017, Chris Hughes got very emotional about his baby Cash who he shared with Olivia Attwood and in 2018 Dr Alex’s baby fell out of the pram without him noticing.
Many ITV stars have gone on to welcome children of their own after the show, including Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy, Alex and Olivia Bowen and Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt.
But it appears as though viewers haven’t missed the annual challenge after they watched the explosive awards ceremony, the Grafties.
On Tuesday (July 25), fans were left open-mouthed as they watched Islanders accept a range of awards voted by the public.
It sparked a series of rows between the residents, with Lochan Nowacki and Tyrique Hyde locking horns and Mitchel Taylor slamming Abi Moores in a cruel speech.
And it’s clear to see fans loved the new challenge as they flooded to Twitter to share their support for the new task online.
