Lucifer: Dr. Linda Martin discusses her past relationship with him

The popular fantasy series Lucifer only has eighteen episodes left to air before the devil’s adventures on Netflix come to a close. Series favourite D.B. Woodside has become well-known for his emotional outpouring of love and respect for his co-stars, and Rachael Harris was no different.

Known for playing Amenadiel, the angelic brother of the misunderstood devil Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis), Woodside has worked alongside Harris since the show’s beginnings.

The actress, who plays Lucifer’s therapist Linda Martin on the series, turned 53 on Tuesday, January 12.

Her long-running co-star marked the occasion by posting a long and heartwarming tribute to their time together, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the comments.

Woodside wrote: “My Dear Friend [Rachael Harris]. There are not enough characters or emojis to express how much I truly adore YOU.

“We have traveled many of the same roads in life with similar upbringings, similar relationships and similar ‘struggles.’”

Their relationship on-screen has grown even more significant in recent years, as Linda and Amenadiel have started raising their son, Charlie, as co-parents in season five.

Even as Lucifer and Chloe Decker (Lauren German) finally made their relationship official, in between dealing with Luci’s twin brother Michael, Linda and Amenadiel’s dynamic still provide some of the best moments in the series.

Lucifer’s fifth instalment left off with Amenadiel struggling to deal with the fact his son is mortal, so the upcoming series will undoubtedly feature further tender moments between Charlie’s parents.

As the hiatus continues, the cast’s social media updates have been a godsend for viewers waiting for more updates, with D.B. Woodside’s birthday post causing a particular stir.

He continued: “YOU always come back stronger in every area of your life. You’re an inspirational figure to anyone that knows you.

“Your wisdom goes unmatched. You’re fiery, intelligent, hilarious, kind, ALWAYS supportive & nonjudgmental. Your children are blessed to have a mother like you!”

Production has been able to continue on Lucifer’s sixth season, though shows in Los Angeles were recently shut down amid another spike in COVID cases.

The star finished off his message with the hope it won’t be long before the co-stars can celebrate the occasion properly once the restrictions of the pandemic have finally been lifted.

Meanwhile, plenty of fans took to the comments to share in D.B. Woodside’s poignant message for Rachael Harris.

One replied: “Not me crying on everyone’s birthday’s bc you literally are the sweetest human on the planet ughhh hbd @RachaelEHarris.”

And another said: “I’m always so happy to see that you all are such great friends off screen.

“The way you feel about one another and appreciate each other always just warms my heart to such great extents.”

With production on the second half of season five already wrapped up, hopefully there aren’t too many birthdays in between now and Lucifer’s highly anticipated return.
