Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) life will quite literally be left hanging in the balance in Emmerdale this October when her car plummets off a cliff – with her inside!
The young mum will end up in a devastating crash alongside boyfriend Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and love rival Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) as the ITV soap’s love triangle storyline reaches a shocking climax.
The scenes in question, set to air in October as Emmerdale’s offerings for Super Soap Week, are currently being filmed, with The Sun having obtained photographs from the on-location shoot, with actors Emma Atkins, Lawrence Robb and Jessie Elland all present.
It’s believed that, following the crash, Mackenzie gets out of the vehicle but is seemingly unable to get Chloe to safety before the car goes plummeting off the side of the cliff.
Charity and Mack are then seen in the middle of a heated exchange, presumably about the events that have just transpired.
‘These are certainly all-action scenes,’ a source told the publication. ‘Charity is hellbent on getting revenge on Mackenzie after he chose to stay with Chloe.
‘But viewers will have to wait to see who survives.’
Metro.co.uk has reached out to Emmerdale for comment.
Charity contemplated the possibility of getting revenge on Mackenzie in Friday’s (August 25) edition of the ITV soap, after he decided to stay with Chloe, who is mum to his son Reuben.
Mack, as fans know, was previously in a relationship with Charity, who he considered to be the love of his life, but after a falling out with his wife-to-be, he slept with Chloe, who subsequently gave birth to his son.
The truth about the infidelity was exposed, with Charity utterly heartbroken, putting an end to her relationship with Mack, just weeks after they tied the knot. But the pair struggled to resist one another, with scenes earlier this week seeing old feelings resurface, with Mack and Charity spending the night together.
Mack, however, devastated Charity, who was hoping to reunite with him and give things another go, as he decided to stay with Chloe.

But there’s clearly more twists on the way, with Super Soap Week proving to be traumatic for the trio. Will Chloe somehow manage to make it out of this alive? Will Mack and Charity for that matter?
Either way, it’s safe to say that this will be a week not to be missed.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
