Money Heist fans will know how all of the heist members have secret code names of cities, which help protect their identities. However, while some of their real names have been revealed, many viewers have been left wondering what they are really called. Here’s what you need to know about their secret identities and why they are named after cities.
What are the characters’ real names in Money Heist?
Ever since the first season of Money Heist, the creators of the series have been keeping viewers guessing about the characters’ real names.
As fans will know, for the first heist the Professor (played by Álvaro Morte) assigns everyone names of cities in order to shield their identities.
They’re not only not allowed to reveal their identities to each other but are also encouraged to adopt them as their own.
In the recent accompanying documentary on Netflix, Money Heist: The Phenomenon, executive producer and director Jesús Colmenar revealed why they decided to name them after cities.

He said: “Why is Tokyo called Tokyo? I was going to tell her. She doesn’t know.
“I remember Álex Pina was wearing a t-shirt that said ‘Tokyo’ on it.
“It’s a great name. The main character has to be called Tokyo. Within 15 minutes I said ‘Berlin, Moscow, Denver.’ It was really quick.”
But while some of their identities have been revealed along the way to audiences, others have been kept hidden.
However, some fans may not have realised at the end of part two, their names are revealed in full.
Therefore, here’s a recap of all of the names revealed in the series so far.
As viewers of the show will know, the Professor’s real name is Sergio Maraquina.
His brother Berlin (Pedro Alonso) is revealed to audiences to be called Andrés de Fonollosa.
Rio (Miguel Herrán) and Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó) are called Aníbal Cortés and Selene Oliveira, respectively, after they told each other their real names.

Another name viewers found out was Agustin Ramos, which is what Moscow (Paco Tous) is actually called.
Then in the credits, more names were unveiled in the police line-up, which ended part two.
Viewers find out Denver (Jaime Lorente) is Daniel Ramos, Olso (Roberto Garcia) is Dimitri Mostovói, Helsinki (Darko Peric) is Yashin Dasáyev and Nairobi (Alba Flores) is Ágata Jiménz.
Of course, in season three we know a few new members joined the bank heist.

Two of these were given code names after the audience had already met them in seasons one and two.
They were former cop Raquel Murillo (Itziar Ituño) who became Lisbon and former hostage Monica Monica Gaztambide (Esther Acebo) who became Stockholm.
Another introduced to the series was Palermo (Rodrigo De la Serna) who in flashbacks was revealed to be Martín Berrote.
Then finally in season four, Manila (Belén Cuesta) was introduced as another heist member after she was revealed to be Moscow’s goddaughter Julia.
