Natasha Raskin Sharp is a fan-favourite presenter on Bargain Hunt and she specialises in art. Her love of art comes from her well-known father, the painter Philip Raskin. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about where the BBC antiques expert was born.

Where was Natasha Raskin Sharp born?

Natasha is a Scottish presenter and antiques expert who has appeared on TV shows across the world.

She is known for her distinctive accent and her bubbly personality has won the hearts of viewers.

Natasha was born in 1986 in Glasgow and is the middle child of three children.

Her whole family are art lovers and her father Philip is known for his painting talents.

Natasha went to Leeds to study law at university but left the course after a month.

Having taken the rest of the academic year off, she moved to the University of Glasgow to study History of Art.

She joined the Glasgow-based auction house McTear’s and became Head of Pictures, specialising in Scottish contemporary art.

It was her father who gently encouraged her in the direction of auctioneering and antiques.

On how she became involved with Bargain Hunt, she said: “A previous series producer of Bargain Hunt saw me on the rostrum in Glasgow.

“And, for whatever reason, decided that she liked my style. I’m glad that she did and owe her a lot – I doubt that I’d be here otherwise.”

Besides her homeland, Natasha loves Wales and enjoys looking for bargains in Builth Wells and Anglesey.

The expert opened up about how she spends her free time at home in Glasgow.

She said: “My partner and I are guilty of eating out too much.

“Glasgow has so many great restaurants, too much of my spare time is spent eating delicious food and not enough time is spent working it off in the gym.”

Natasha is on Twitter and she calls herself a “Glasgow Girl”, proud of her heritage.
