Netflix share first look at fourth season of You and confirms new release date

Teasers for the fourth season of Netflix's You have finally been released along with a number of clues about what's to come.

While fans have known for a while that the fourth instalment of the hit show is in the works, Netflix have stayed tight-lipped about release dates and storylines.

The streaming giant have now announced that the new series of You will be released in two parts in 2023; the first on 10 February and the second on 10 March.

Netflix revealed the news alongside a promo poster for the new series, which shows Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) dressed in a suit while pouring blood into a tea cup.

Fans were quick to share their excitement and shortly after the initial announcement, Netflix released the trailer for the fourth season – and there's no doubt that fans are in for a treat.

At the end of series three, Joe had jetted off to Paris in order to find Marienne (Tati Gabrielle) and her daughter Juliette, with many viewers presuming the next series would be based in the French capital.

However, the new teaser shows that Joe has actually relocated to London, having left the States behind. He's also got a new pseudonym, Professor Jonathan Moore.

"I'm not the lovable bookstore manager in New York or the shop clerk in LA, or the doting husband in the suburbs. No, not anymore. Allow me to introduce myself. I've gone through a bit of refinement upon crossing the pond.

"And living in London has allowed me to bury the past, if you will," Joe announces in the trailer, before saying he's ditched "unrequited love and longing" and is focusing on "academia and instruction" this time around.

He concludes his speech with: "Unfortunately, with friends in high places, then usually come others attempting to climb that social ladder. So, they end up falling or shall I say, pushed, to their social death. The question, by who?”

Despite Joe's new location, it appears he did find Marienne somewhere, as the clip confirmed she will be returning in the fourth season.

A whole host of new characters are to be introduced however, as it appears Joe's made a number of friends – or, more likely, enemies – in London.

Former EastEnders actress Tilly Keeper will be joining the show as Phoebe, while actress Charlotte Ritchie is taking on the role of Amy, who appears to be Joe's new love interest.

You season four will air on Netflix in February and March 2023. Series 1-3 are available to stream now.
