Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) realises he’s made the biggest mistake of his life in letting Joseph (William Flanagan) go in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
The dad of five has been struggling to make ends meet, and feared that he couldn’t give Joseph the life that he deserves, given how much time and energy looking after the quads requires.
When Linda (Jacqueline Leonard) first offered to take Joseph to Portugal, Chesney was horrified, but ultimately he agrees to let him son go.
Joseph, however, is gutted.
Linda explains that owing to an emergency, she’s flying back to Portugal sooner than she expected. Joseph asserts that he’ll go too, leaving Chesney and Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) in shock, as they come to realise they’ll be saying goodbye sooner than expected.
Subsequent scenes will see Ches and Gemma bid farewell to Joseph, who leaves with Linda in a taxi.
The above clip, taken from Monday’s (February 28) hour-long edition of the ITV serial drama, picks up immediately after the sad goodbye, with Gemma adamant that they’ve made a big mistake.
Chesney, however, stands by his decision. That is, until Hope (Isabella Flanagan) rocks up with Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine).
Hope explains that Joseph didn’t actually want to leave the street, but rather he felt like he had to, believing that he’s getting in the way.
Chesney is heartbroken that his son feels like that, and without wasting a moment, her grabs his coat and tells Gemma that they are going to get Joseph back.
The question is: will they make it to the airport in time?
One to watch: Monday February 28 at 7:30pm on ITV.
