Nicole Scherzinger's eagerly awaited reunion with the Pussycat Dolls sparked a wave of criticism after they were accused of turning the X Factor : Celebrity stage into a strip club on Saturday night.
The judge took to the stage with her PCD pals for the first time in a decade -and the girls were determined to put on a show.
But many fans thought Nicole, 41, and her four bandmates took the routine a little too far with their outrageous costumes and gyrating dance moves.
The girls turned up the heat in the studio, with things only getting more x-rated as they were ended the routine by being soaked in water.
But some viewers were not happy with their shenanigans which came before the 9pm watershed with others accusing the band of miming.
"Disgusting, disrespectful and shameful and all before the watershed. X-Factor is a family show and I enjoy it with my 7 year old daughter who was shocked and disgusted as was I. Call yourself a role model, put some clothes on and grow up," slammed one.
"Disgusted with Pussycats dolls on X factor tonight. I’m sorry but I am there are millions of young girls watching this and thinking that they have to look that thin to get recognised. This is a family programme and it’s a disgrace!" fumed one.
"That pussycat dolls performance was unadulterated filth," raged another.
While a fourth blasted: "I wouldn't want kids watching this….looks like a trashy strip show! Gees there's a time + place for it! How sad that these women feel the need to dress like that when they know kids watch the show. Grim."
However, others thought the Pussycat Dolls girls did a stellar job of whipping up excitement for their upcoming tour and commented that they looked incredible in their mesh and leather ensembles.
"If I looked like Nicole Scherzinger I'd wear that outfit every f*****g day," praised one, and many agreed.
While in the studio Simon Cowell was clearly very impressed as he gave the band a standing ovation and a rapturous applause.
Nicole's rumoured love interested Thom Evans looked equally enthralled as he grinned sheepishly from the green room.
His Try Star bandmate Levi Davis even tried to copy some of the girls' dance moves by thrusting his hips back and forth.
Many viewers were distracted by the band's energetic routine, others were distracted by the suspicion they weren't performing live.
Some critics took to Twitter to suggest Nicole, Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Kimberley Wyatt and Jessica Sutta were miming to some of their biggest hits.
"The Pussycat dolls miming skills are absolutely SHOCKING," accused one.
"Stripper outfits and miming along to their own music on a singing competition not quite the come back I expected!" tweeted another.
Nicole and her bandmates threatened to steal the show, but in the end it was Megan McKenna's night of triumph.
The reality star raised the most amount of viewer votes and was crowned winner of the first series of X Factor: Celebrity, bagging herself a coveted record contract from Simon Cowell.
