Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell starred on ITV's Lorraine and shared his thoughts on The Queen's health.
Paul revealed that Queen Elizabeth, who is 95 and celebrating 70 years on the throne, is preparing to hand over her crown.
The Queen had recently shared a statement to mark her milestone and part of it read: "I would like to express my thanks to you all for your support. I remain eternally grateful for, and humbled by, the loyalty and affection that you continue to give me.
"And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service."
Talking to Lorraine on Monday's programme, Paul spoke about the Camilla mention and said: "I see what she is doing and I know she is preparing a smooth path for the transition of this monarchy to the next monarchy.
"Yesterday, I was very sad and I saw a frail queen at Sandringham and I was thinking about the times I was with her and she was strong and fit and healthy and I realise we are coming to the end of the monarchy and she does too."
To which Lorraine replied: "I must admit she did look thinner and a little more frail."
Royal photographer Arthur Edwards said: "That's true she hasn't done an engagement since October, she is reigning right back. Recently, I did an engagement with her when she went to Westminster Abbey and she had the walking stick.
"What people don't know is they took the car to the nearest door so she didn't have to walk all the way down the Abbey.
"She's 95, I think she does look frail but she's smiling and she's laughing and she's carrying on. That's the spirit. I'm so pleased she did that for Camilla because when the queen wishes something it comes true."
Lorraine then added: "She might be frail, she might be a bit thin, but she still looks radiant. We hope she can celebrate her 70th year on the throne without too many distractions."
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV
