TIMES have been hard for Peter Barlow after he was accused of murdering Stephen Reid.
Next week, the cabbie played by Chris Gascoyne finds support in Coronation Street in the former of his ex Toyah Battersby.
Peter finds himself alone to face potential legal trouble as his wife Carla Connor tries desperately to save the Underworld business and her employees from losing their jobs.
As regular ITV viewers may remember, Peter mowed serial killer Stephen Reid with his car in recent scenes of the Manchester-based drama, thus saving Jenny Connor's life.
The former Rovers landlady was being threatened by the criminal who was desperately trying to get out of the cobbles in a last-ditch attempt to escape justice.
Accused of murder, Peter is facing a devastating comeuppance and may be tempted to turn back to his old demons.

In 2021, after a complex relationship with alcohol, Peter underwent a liver transplant due to his addiction having a potentially deadly impact on his physical health.
This meant he would lay off the bottle but could the pressure of a murder accusation be too much for him to handle?
Coming up next week, Peter takes matters into his own hands and reveals he is off to an alcoholics' meeting.
Well aware that he is alone to face his demons, his former partner Toyah Battersby (played by Georgia Taylor) offers to go with him, leaving Peter grateful.
