Piers Morgan forced to apologise to Tony Blair for ‘interrupting’ former PM in GMB debate

Piers Morgan, 55, and Susanna Reid, 49, were joined on the show by Tony Blair, 66, to discuss the UK Government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. The interview was rather placid, with both Good Morning Britain hosts giving the former Prime Minister the chance to get his views across on several matters, including a vaccine for COVID-19 and an exit strategy from lockdown. However, the Life Stories presenter did have to apologise to his guest when he interrupted him early on in the discussion.

After asking about military intervention, Morgan wanted to understand how Blair dealt with the Foot and Mouth outbreak in 2001.

Although the disease was a health crisis, it didn’t reach the level of impact the current coronavirus pandemic has caused not only in the UK but across the globe.

As the former Prime Minister tried to explain his position, the host interrupted him and in a change of tact from other interviews with politicians, the presenter apologised.

He informed both his guest and viewers they were using different software to conduct the discussion, which meant it seemed he was talking over the top of the former Labour minister.
