Kyle Richards from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills says tensions with Denise Richards really surprised her this season.
Kyle appeared along with Ramona Singer and Joe and Melissa Gorga on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. The Brady Bunch style video chat allowed for host Andy Cohen to stuff the show with additional content. And Kyle teased about how the drama with Denise also changed the cast dynamic.
Andy hosted a virtual version of the After Show and lobbed a viewer question Kyle’s way immediately. “Kyle, Eric B wants to know if the turn of events with Denise this season surprised you,” Andy asked.
“Yes, very much so,” Kyle replied. And while Andy appeared to be ready to move on, Kyle wanted to enhance her response.
Breaking down the cast
Kyle added, “And that’s where everything sort of fell apart with the cast and everybody sort of, well not divided but it was um … it was a shock. For sure.”
Likely unrelated to the Denise drama, Kyle also hinted at which new cast member she bonded with more. A viewer wondered how newcomers, Sutton Stracke and Garcelle Beauvais did this season. “I think they were great,” Kyle said. “They’re great additions to the show.”
Adding, “I’m really excited for you to see them all and I’ve gotten really close to Sutton more so than Garcelle. She was doing another show at the same time too. But they’re both great additions. So I’m excited to have on the show with us.”
Kyle hoped Denise would attend the reunion to address the drama
The “Denise drama” revolved around an alleged affair Denise had with Brandi Glanville. Brandi appeared on RHOBH years ago, returned last year for a cameo moment with Denise and returns in a guest role this year.
In February, Kyle shared she was shocked by what transpired with Denise to US Weekly. “It’s been a really wild ride this season and it’s just, I don’t even know what to say,” she said. “After ten years you think I could come up with something, but I’m always kind of speechless what ends up coming up on the show and the things that come out and the things that happen between everybody it’s been crazy. Ten years down and I’m still shocked.”
The drama was so intense, Kyle thought Denise was likely going to pull a Lisa Vanderpump and avoid attending the reunion. “I didn’t think so, honestly, but apparently you know, she said she’s not going anywhere. I think she posted that the other day so I hope so,” she said. ” “Up until this season we hadn’t had any issues or anything and I’d like to see her stick around and be at the reunion and I think that it’s just better to deal with things head-on anyway even though it’s difficult sometimes.”
In January, Denise asked Twitter followers for tag line ideas and added she was still part of the cast. “Any good tag lines for me for #rhobh ?!? And no… I did not quit.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 10 premieres on April 15 at 8/7c on Bravo.
