EastEnders has left fans stunned with a massive car crash stunt which Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) miraculously walked away from – only for her to then be hit by a lorry as Hunter’s voice tormented her.
It turned out that Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) had been right about Mel struggling with a growing psychosis but with Mel gone, Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) now faces the consequences of a shocking accusation from Lisa – that she killed Mel!
Lisa has told Phil (Steve McFadden) that the reason Mel is dead is because that she found out that Sharon’s baby isn’t his and it’s clearly startled him. But will Sharon use Lisa’s ill health to her advantage and make out that she is fantasising as a result of her own psychosis?
Phil was certainly left with a lot to process in the wake of Lisa’s dramatic accusations and Sharon’s outbursts certainly didn’t help matters. But is it confession time? It’s no secret that Phil will discover the truth about Sharon and Keanu (Danny Walters) before the year is out – culminating in a dramatic exit for Keanu.
Could he be set to meet the same fate as Mel?
Meanwhile, discussion is rife among Albert Square next week following the death of Mel and residents gather in the Vic to discuss everything that has happened. With gossip rife over the circumstances of Mel’s demise and the events leading up to it, can Sharon cope with hearing whispers all around?
Raising a glass to Mel, Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White), Sonia (Natalie Cassidy), Karen (Lorraine Stanley) and Linda (Kellie Bright) remember her but not everyone has such fond memories and Sharon’s family life is hanging by a thread.
With Lisa wanting answers, will she end the mission that Mel started – and destroy the Mitchells forever?
EastEnders continues on Monday 18 November at 8pm on BBC One.
