Spoilers: Iain and Faith clash as a troubled family return to ED in Casualty

A few weeks ago in Casualty Faith (Kirsty Mitchell) and Iain (Michael Stevenson) disagreed over a patient, Liv Hutton (Kerry Fitzgerald).

While Iain called in social services to the homeless, alcoholic woman and her son DJ (Lawton Dickens), Faith felt he should have treated them with more understanding. Iain predicted that they would be back – and he was right.

Tonight’s episode opens with a scene of violence, and we see Liv running away covered in blood. Back in the house, her father Keith (Sam Cox) has been left in a pool of blood in the kitchen with a knife sticking out of him.

‘I knew this’d happen,’ Iain mutters to Teddy (Milo Clarke) when they get the call. But what, exactly, has happened? As Iain and Faith once again clash over the Hutton family, it becomes clear that there’s more than one way to view the situation.

Elsewhere, as Robyn (Amanda Henderson) tries to carry out her usual workload and look after her daughter Charlotte, it’s clear that the medications she’s taking to prepare her body to be a surrogate for Marty (Shaheen Jafargholi) and Adi (Raj Bajaj) are taking their toll.

Though Robyn insists she’s fine, and rejects Adi’s offer to babysit Charlotte to give her a break, Paul (Paul Popplewell) can see that she’s not well. But as she starts to feel increasingly worse, can Robyn carry on?

Meanwhile there’s something on Adi’s mind and what he has to say leaves Marty feeling troubled.

Dylan (William Beck) once again falls foul of Marcus Fidel (Adam Sina) and his mania for management meetings, but on a shift where he literally holds someone’s heart in his hands, he knows where his priorities lie. How long can he hold out against Marcus scheming against him?

Patients this week include Coronation Street legend Amanda Barrie as Elsie, a care home resident who has quite a way with words – most of them directed at Faith.
