Jay (Jamie Borthwick) and Lola (Danielle Harold) have had a rocky relationship over the years, and Lola is set to have her heartbroken yet again as Jay goes on a date.
When one character is let down by their original wingman, they beg Jay to accompany them on a double date. With Jay and Lola’s relationship still a secret, he has no reason to refuse.
Despite knowing that the date is only to support a friend, Lola can’t help but feel jealous.
The situation forces the pair to think seriously about their relationship, and whether or not it is time to be open about it.
The couple only got back together recently, after a dangerous siege put things into perspective for them.
Fans of the show will know that EastEnders are tackling an important storyline that will see Lola be diagnosed with a brain tumour. The show has teamed up with Brain Tumour Research and Macmillan Cancer Support in order to provide the most realistic and sensitive representation of the topic.
