Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is shocked when he finally discovers who Marcus Dean (Darcy Grey) really is in upcoming Emmerdale episodes. Rhona (Zoe Henry) finally comes clean and tells him that Marcus is the son of her former husband Pierce Harris, who raped her and framed Marlon for murder.
Understandably this shock news send Marlon into a spin as he finds it hard to process, and the worst part is that Rhona has been keeping it a secret from him. He feels betrayed, and tells Paddy (Dominic Brunt) that he doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to forgive Rhona for what she’s done.
Rhona knows the impact that her secret has had on Marlon – which is why she was afraid to tell him for so long – but she’s shocked at what happens next.
When she and Marlon cross paths, they quickly fall into an argument that soon turns nasty. Rhona feels attacked by what’s being said and accuses Marlon of victim shaming her, which leaves Marlon feeling hurt and knowing that he’s crossed a line.
Marcus sees this happening and points out to Marlon that it’s Pierce he’s angry with, not Rhona. His words resonate with Marlon, who realises he went too far.
But can he find it in himself to apologise and reconcile with Rhona, or does the hurt run too deep?
