Outlander’s Catriona Balfe discusses parenting during filming
Starz has axed four of its original series – but there’s good news for Outlander fans.
The streaming service has decided to let go of three of its series; Heels, Run the World, and Blindspotting as per Variety.
The three shows have not been renewed for any new season after just concluding their second runs at Starz.
Meanwhile, the psychological thriller series, The Venery of Samantha Bird is the fourth show being scrapped before even hitting the screen – despite being in its first season of production.
Production was shut down in the midst of the WGA strike and it was reported at the time only two episodes of the first season were left to shoot.

The un-aired series was set to star Katherine Langford as the titular character Samantha.
The Venery of Samantha Bird was set to follow the lead’s journey as she “reconnects with her childhood sweetheart and falls headlong into a seemingly perfect storybook romance. But the couple’s picture-perfect love story isn’t as sweet as it seems on the surface,” as per the official logline.
Starz hasn’t provided much comment on why they have opted to axe several of its original series, but the writers’ and actors’ strikes are likely to be the reason behind the cull.
The strikes caused chaos all over Hollywood for various different streamers and channels – from severe delays to even cancellations.

Thankfully, Sam Heughan-lead series Outlander has survived as fans gear up to get stuck into the series’ eighth and final run.
However, Starz has yet to confirm a release date for the final season.
After Outlander airs its eighth season Starz will become dependent on the enduring Power spinoffs and a handful of other programs like horror comedy Shining Vale.
Starz can also fall back on its greenlit 10-episode-long prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood from the executive producers of the original hit adventure series.
